September 15th, 2012 - Chris debuted his #21 Lone Star Hydro & Maintenance/Roush Yates Racing Engine Open Wheel Modified in fine style over the weekend by scoring the $3,000 win in the Port-A-Cool U.S. National Dirt Track Championship at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track (Justin, Texas).

Over 100 Open Wheel Modifieds from across the country entered the event, and in preliminary action on Friday night Chris charged to the win in the third heat race to lock into the A-Scramble With the top eight finishers locking into Saturday night's finale Brown finished ninth, which left him one spot out. As a result, he started on the pole of a b-main on Saturday night and raced to the win to earn the ninth starting spot for the main event. As the feature went green Chris began working his way forward and would ultimately find his way into the lead on lap 31. Once out front he never looked back as he led the final ten laps on his way to his third win of the year, which came over John Whittington, Shane Hebert, Jason Ingalls, and John Allen. 1September 8th, 2012 - After more than a month away from the track Chris Brown made the trip to the far North over the weekend for a pair of Hunt for the Casey's USMTS Cup events.

On Friday night the festivities opened at Ogilvie Raceway (Ogilvie, Minnesota) with a $4,000-to-win event as thirty-one competitors registered for battle. A seventh to fourth run in his heat race left Brown just short of locking into the main event, and as a result he had to run a b-main. After winning the b-main from the pole position he started fourteenth in the 40 lap finale before advancing three spots on his way to an eleventh place finish.

The team returned to Ogilvie Raceway (Ogilvie, Minnesota) on Saturday night for another $4,000-to-win program as the entry list increased to thirty-seven competitors. For the second straight night heat race action would see Brown not locking into the feature, and as a result he ran a b-main, where he finished in the fourth position. In the 40 lap finale he started in the twentieth spot and would go on to pass three cars to finish seventeenth.
